Whenever you indulge in PMO(Porn, masturbation, orgasm), your brain releases a chemical known as dopamine. Dopamine is a feel-good chemical that gives you the sensation of pleasure, that’s why indulging in PMO feels so good.
Due to the huge amount of dopamine released by PMO(Porn, masturbation, orgasm), your dopamine receptors get desensitized, meaning they’ll now need more amount of dopamine to give you the same pleasure as before. As a result, activities that can’t provide you with the same level of dopamine as porn and masturbation stops giving you pleasure and you start losing interest in them.
Since socializing and talking to people doesn’t release as much dopamine as porn and masturbation, you start losing interest in it and start preferring porn and masturbation over socializing and talking to people.
Not just that, you also start losing interest in other activities like working, exercising, studying, etc. because these activities also can’t produce the same level of dopamine as porn and masturbation.
You’ll also notice that you’re not able to talk confidently with people. You won’t be able to maintain eye contact with people while talking to them. Your self-esteem and confidence take a hit when you indulge in PMO excessively.
Also, you’ll start seeing women as sex objects. Whenever you see a woman, the first thing that’ll come to your mind is having sex with her. As a result, you won’t be able to hold a conversation with a woman because all you’ll be thinking about is having sex with her.
Will NoFap Cure Your Social Anxiety?

Keep in mind that excessive PMO is not the only cause behind social anxiety. Social anxiety can also be caused due to genetics, family conflict, trauma, abuse, etc. If excessive PMO isn’t the reason behind your social anxiety, then nofap can’t help you much in that case.
If you indulge in PMO excessively and are experiencing social anxiety, the first thing you need to do is give up porn and masturbation and notice the difference. If PMO was the reason behind your social anxiety, you should feel an improvement within 30 days of nofap. If you don’t feel any improvement in your social anxiety within 30 days of nofap, then you should consult a mental health professional.

When you give up porn and masturbation, your dopamine receptors come back to their normal level and become sensitive again. As a result, activities that couldn’t excite you before start to excite you, and you start to enjoy little things in life.
